Answers to common questions about the admissions process
The average high school GPA for admitted freshmen is 3.7 on a 4.0 scale. However, we consider applications holistically, taking into account factors beyond GPA.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, SAT and ACT scores are optional for undergraduate applicants. If submitted, test scores will be considered as part of our holistic review process.
Freshman applicants should submit two letters of recommendation, preferably from teachers in core academic subjects. Transfer applicants should submit one letter from a college professor.
Yes, you can indicate a primary and secondary program choice on your application. If you're not admitted to your first-choice program, you'll automatically be considered for your second choice.
Decision timelines vary by application type. Early Decision applicants will be notified by December 15, Early Action by January 15, and Regular Decision by March 31.
Interviews are not required but are recommended for certain programs, such as the Honors College and some arts programs. If recommended, you'll be contacted to schedule an interview after your application is reviewed.
